The Team

The Brant Family Eye Care folk. They’re a talented bunch!

The best way to exceed patient expectations each day is with great people who truly enjoy their job, so we make sure to only hire the best.

Cheryl Conn, CCOA

Small Talk: Hockey, good restaurants & travel

Cheryl’s customer service background coupled with her flair for style and her warm personality are what have resulted in her loyal following of patients at Brant & Paris Family Eye Care.

Cheryl’s dedication to Brant & Paris Family Eye Care along with her commitment to help train and nurture her fellow team members has earned her the title of “Office Mom.”

Outside work, Cheryl donates her time to the hockey community serving as Director of Events and Tournaments for Brantford Minor Hockey.  Cheryl’s true “joie de vivre” comes from spending time with her two true loves:  her husband Bill and her son Ethan. Among other things, Cheryl aspires to one day enjoy a “bucket list adventure” driving across part of the country in a motorhome.

Samantha Dumesnil, CCOA

Small Talk: Her 2 kids, Brantford Minor hockey, health & fitness, motherhood dares

Before she became a successful Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant, Samantha attended Niagara College Canada. Born in Elliot Lake, she fell in love with all Brant County had to offer and knew Brantford was a place she wanted to live & start a career.

A whiz when it comes to all things contact lenses, Samantha also recently completed her dry eye hygienist certification and enjoys helping patients with their dry eye therapy programs.

Sam is truly dedicated to giving back to the community and is actively involved with Brantford Minor Hockey.

With all that on the go, Samantha and her husband, Ryan, still find time to be amazing parents to their son Declan and to her mini-me daughter Tenley. What keeps her going? Family, friends, and most of all, her incredible dance moves.

Amelia Zoutman, CCOA

Small Talk: I don't do small talk... but if I did, we'd talk about shoes.

Growing up, Amelia didn’t know what she wanted to do for a living, but she knew she would be dressed well doing it. After spending time at home raising her daughter, Amelia found herself dressed for success at Brant & Paris Family Eye Care.  She quickly knew that this was the place for her and studied to become a Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant.

Amelia does not like desserts/sweets (yes...that is an actual thing) but is known by name to those at Burrito Brothers.  Outside of work Amelia loves to stay busy. She is very family-oriented & spends the majority of her vacation days visiting family and friends all over Ontario.

Alexandra Tensen, CCOA

SMALL TALK:   Travel, Disney, Japan

Even with her feet firmly planted, you can’t clip this one’s wings. Alexandra loves to travel and is always looking for adventure!  Recently becoming a Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant, Alexandra has a natural-born instinct for the optical world.

Alexandra has a passion for protecting people from harmful UV rays and is eager to help patients find the perfect pair of sunglasses to complement a new pair of everyday glasses with Transitions Signature 8 lenses. As a certified Transitions Lens Specialist, she is well versed in matching each patient’s visual needs with a customized solution.

Alexandra is dedicated to giving back to the community and is actively involved with many community organizations including the YAC of Brant Community Foundation, Special Olympics Healthy Sight Program, Women’s Institute, and the United Way.

Small Talk:  Fitness and wellness & enjoying the small stuff

Before she fell in love with Brant & Paris Family Eye Care’s fun environment, awesome people, & team approach, Kerry had over 20 years of work experience in customer service, education, office administration and marketing.  A total rockstar optometric assistant, Kerry also spearheads Brant & Paris Family Eye Care’s Fun Committee.

Earning her the title of Brant & Paris Family Eye Care’s Peer to Peer champion, Kerry is a true team player. Known in the office for getting things done, no matter how busy she is you will never hear her say, “That’s not my job.”

In her spare time, Kerry loves yoga, meditation, and spending time with her husband and their three amazing teenaged daughters.

Amanda Sherred, CCOA

Small Talk: Camping & mom life

With over 21 years in the health care field, Amanda has a proven record of reliability and strong ability to establish rapport with patients and her coworkers. Amanda holds a certificate as a Personal Support Worker and is currently completing her Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant certification.

In her spare time, Amanda can be found relaxing with friends & family and enjoys being outside, camping & sipping on the occasional glass of wine. Amanda is a proud and devoted mother to her amazingly talented athletic sons!

Kim Vo, B.A.

Small Talk: Cosmetics, travel, & classical art

Kim graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Global Business Management from Ryerson University and her Business Administration Marketing from Sheridan College.

Her passions in life include travel, arts, and crafts.  Kim loved her time living in Japan and truly appreciated soaking in how the modern world mixed with longstanding traditions.  She dreams of the day when she will be able to travel to Singapore to explore its culture and architecture and to Europe to connect with the cities’ treasure-filled museums.

Kim is fluent in Vietnamese and is known in the office for her generosity, artistic talents and her larger than life personality.  Maybe it’s because of her magnetic smile, but she rarely goes out without seeing someone she knows.

Kacie Harrison, B.A.(Hons)

Small Talk:  Hiking, hockey, softball

Before becoming a rockstar optometric assistant, Kacie attended Wilfrid University & graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Health Administration with a minor in leadership and also earned her graduate certificate in Human Resources Management with distinction from Conestoga College.

Brant & Paris Family Eye Care scooped up Kacie in 2019 & she's been loving every minute of it since! She is amazed every day by the calibre of people she gets to work alongside and the knowledge & vast personalities that come with a diverse, vibrant & motivated group of people.

Kacie has been immersed in sports throughout her life.  Kacie can often be found out hiking along the trails Brant County has to offer. She also enjoys hockey, dodgeball and softball and loves being a spectator cheering on “her teams” at sporting events.
